Zacchaeus

Luke 19:1-10

Zacchaeus was a wee little man,
In stature and in heart;
Yet he desired to see the Lord,
Before from town He did depart.

So he climbed up into a Sycamore tree,
To see the Lord pass by;
He wanted to do nothing more,
Then to see Him with his eye.

The Lord took time to personally speak,
With the man in the Sycamore tree;
He took the time to show Zacchaeus,
How he from sin could be free!

Much more happened to Zacchaeus that day,
For the Lord bid him come down;
He asked if He could sup with him,
Before everyone in the town!

Though others questioned why the Lord
Would want to sit with him;
Jesus knew the greatest need,
Was to show the man his sin.

So though Zacchaeus was still small,
He received a brand new heart;
He had met the Prince of Peace,
Who had given to him a new start.

You don't have to climb a Sycamore tree,
To glimpse Jesus passing by;
He is only a prayer away,
So call on Him while He is nigh.

He will do the same for you,
As He did for Zacchaeus that day;
He will give you eternal life,
If to Him you will humbly pray.
