If I could do things over,

I'd take the time to see;

That love and care should exist,

For this person who is me.

If I could do things over,

Abuse would have no part;

I would see how important

It was to protect my heart.

If I could do things over,

Laughter would replace the pain;

Fear would not rule,

Blood would leave no stain.

If I could do things over,

I'd let Jesus be my friend;

He alone would defend me,

Until the very end.

If I could do things over,

I'd realize I can only be;

Happy, safe and content,

When I trust Jesus to love me.
