Someday

Rain beats down, lightening flashes,
Thunder booms, the fog rolls in;
Flood water rise and quickly cover,
The place where life has been.
Mountains shake and fall in pieces,
Ash pours from the sky;
That in their pathway lie.
Ground trembles and trees fall,
Earth splits open wide;
Tsunami's build with ugly force,
And partner with landslides.
Gunfire rages and fires burn,
A father holds his son;
Hiding inside a filthy shack,
With nowhere that he can run.
Children gaze with hopelessness,
Aids destroyed their lives;
Orphaned and alone they wander,
With no one to hear their cries.
A woman sobs into the hair,
Of her little starving one;
She gently kisses the shallow cheek,
Her child, whose life is done.
But someday the curse will lift,
And all destruction will cease;
It will be a world of righteousness,
And be filled with love and peace.
For God Himself will set all right,
Satan will be subdued;
It will be a world beautiful and pure,
Joy and hope will be renewed.
